after changing battery the car wont stay in idle unless foot is on gas pedel

    Since you just changed the battery, it may take a little bit of time and running to set the vehicle's engine processor adaptive strategy. Kind of an on-the-job programming, if you will, for the processor. Once everything sets up after some driving, hopefully all will again be ok.

    If the problem continues, be looking for a vacuum leak, air intake leak, unmetered air leak, loose vacuum hose, etc...or stuck idle air control valve.
