Question: After boosting dead battery, battery gauge and fuel gauge stopped working

My wife's 2002 Ford Explorer had its lights left on, which drained the battery. I jump-started it, but after the boost, the gas gauge and battery gauge stopped working. The needles drop below zero. Everything else on the dash still works, though. I have checked the fuses (under the steering wheel AND in the central box behind the battery). All fuses are okay. I also checked the battery-to-chassis ground; all connections are clean and tight. I suspect that it might be a microprocessor on the dash display cluster, but I'm not sure. And if it is, I don't know if I would have to replace the entire cluster. Would anyone happen to have any ideas, please??? Thank you!

    Sounds like the entire cluster will have to be replaced. You cannot replace individual gauges on this vehicle. The surge from the boost probably damaged those particular circuits.
