why would neither ac nor heater work right at idle but they both blow fine on the highway? The ac doesn't get cold on the highway but at least it blows.

    on the a/c side, if you have a weak compressor it will be
    evident mainly at idle. on the heat side, it may be low on coolant. regardless, the first step is to take the ML to a local MB specialty shop and first look at the a/c system pressures. if the high and low sides are beginning to equalize at idle, the compressor is going.
