When I turn on my car I have to hit it under the dash to get my AC/Heater blower blowing & it is noisy. When I am idling at a stop light my AC turns into heat & makes a tick, tick, tick! The heat works fine.

It sounds like your blower motor is worn out, that is why you have to hit the dash. The fact that your A/C is weak at idle, but works when at speed could be a couple of things. A weak charge of R134 which only cools enough when the engine is running faster or a wearing A/C compressor that only puts out when it is turning fast ( not at idle ).
