1997 Lincoln Town Car Question: Access to top mount of rear shocks

Those are difficult. You have to reach between the frame and the body, to reach the nut.
The shock shaft will likely turn on you when turning the nut with the wrench. I will cut the plastic shield off the old shock and clamp some vice grips to the old shock shaft. If you are using a ratcheting wrench, you can then use the vice grips to turn the shaft.
Make sure you take the time to completely tighten the new shock nut.
