Acceleration problems on 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis

When I lightly press the gas pedal at 30-60 mph my mercury will shake and shutter slightly as if it is not getting a good flow of fuel or some plug or wire is bad. It is a jerking feeling. Anyone with advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Coil on plug type ignition system with a misfire, scanner will show problem cylinder(s) so it's best to have it checked by a mechanic..

Sure... that's the only way to fix this problem as there are eight different possibilities!

A/T problem?...... 9 possibilities , then random guessing would also 'up the ante'.
