The funny thing is that i have a 500 also, i will be getting this problem fixed on thursday. Do not buy a new compressor. Go find the correct drier and orifice tube better known as an o ring and have those items replaced because the drier is sticking when car is in an idle state. Whats happening is that the high end of the compressor is blowing very high, mines was blowing at 300 degrees and it should be lower.

The Ford Dealership in Winslow, Az., has replaced my compressor twice and now it is doing it again. The warranty is just up on my Ford 500, so I thought I was just going to have to take it. Nice to know about the O ring in the drier sticking when in idle state. Thanks.

Did replacing the drier and orifice tube fix your problem kingburrows, nika360 or anonymous?
Mine may have additional problems because it does not cool going or not (it has been fully charged)!
Thanks! rdkeathley@cswnet.com
