a/c was cooling to 43 degrees out the vents and all of a sudden, it stopped and the temp out the vent went to 75. Stopped and cked and the comp was turning, low side line was not cold but high side line was cold and swating back. put a gauge on the low side and pressure was 75. though that a restriction was the answer so i replaced the orfice tube and accumalator. vacuumed, charged and the same occured. by passsed the heater core thinking well maybe my actuator door was not closing and or heater control valve was sticking, the same was occurring. after changing the tube and drier the low side pressure came down to 35 to 40..now thats where its supposed to be, didnt have a high side gauge. anyway running 35 to 40 on low side at idle but when you rev the engine the pressure begins to rise and temp of air rises.. what gives. is the comp bad ??

Master35-40 is still too high for the low side when the compressor is on, it shoud cycle down to about 20-25 and then click off. Did you thoroughly evacuate the system each time you installed the new parts? Because if you did not, then you will have moisture in the system and the system will never work correctly. It sounds like you found a major problem with the orifice tube etc. I would get a vacuum pump and then empty the system and then evacuate your system for at least 1 hour with the pressure being negative 29-30 psi. Then do the proper refill with precisely the correct number of ounces. Then re-check the performance of your A/C.

Visitor, June 10, 2011, 21:23Replyok good. Today I changes the compressor and vacuumed and refilled the fella that was helping me said that 40 was food for the low side and 200 was good for the high. The condenser fan operates normal I feel. It kicks in and out as the a/c cycles. Today it started blowing 50degrees and it was 95 outside. Pulled down to 48 driving. I'm still not convinced that it's right.

MasterI can't give you much help from the information you've given me although it sounds like you have some understanding of how the system works.
You need a better diagnosis and you won't get it without a high-side gauge. You don't say whether the condenser fan comes on with the compressor clutch. That would be an important item to check.

Visitor, June 10, 2011, 21:26Replythe can operates lime it should. The high side ran about 200 low side at 40 and it was cooling to 50 at idle and 48driving. O e thing I did different was to wash out the condenser

When I'm idling, the car sometimes revs between 500-1000 rpm, over and over again until i start moving. It generally only happens when the A/C is on....
