what should high and low AC pressures be?

This will vary depending upon temperature and humidity. As a general rule though I like to see the high side around 125 and the low side around 25.

On some models a mis-manufactured AC evaporator core can cause the AC to cool poorly. The AC evaporator needs to be replaced for the AC to cool properly.
