ac not working on 2002 GMC Safari

ac does not turn on all the time. if i leave the control on sometimes it comes on and sometimes it does not.

There is a low pressure switch at the drier that is notorious for intermittent probs. If the system is fully charged then I would start there if when it does work it feels nice and cool.
