AC not working on 1998 GMC Savana 1500

I was wondering if there is a way to block off the rear A/C and just run the front A/C? It is not working at all. A charge only lasted a short time. I was told there is often a leak in the lines that run in the ceiling to get to the back.

Even to block off the lines or by pass them the system would need to be evacuated and recharged but it may be possible to eliminate the rear a/c but talk to a shop specializing in a/c work.

while you can block the rear off it probably would be cheaper to find the leak usually on the underside of the passenger side is the aluminum ac lines that run to the back, they are almost always rusted in spots what i did was took high pressure couplings and cut the line then coupled them with the fittings and it works fine had no more problems until another part of the line begins to rot out so far its been two years

turn ac off and it cools down
The heat works fine and the blower blows in the Pro Air system. It seems that something is not telling the ac to come on in the system.
