my ac will run ok for a few miles and then will stop blowing cold air, then the light will start blinking. but then you turn the ac off and wait a few minutes and turn it back on and it will work fine and then start the whole thing over again. there is a few times when it will stay working for the whole duration of the trip.

2002 Toyota Camry Question: ac light flashing/hot air
Answer #1Visitor, May 24, 2010, 10:29
I had this same problem not too long ago. After some research and checking out the A/C compressor, I found it wasn't starting at all. As a temporary fix I used a fuse from one of the other components not needed to start and run the vehicle (the horn) and found that the A/C worked without issue. I purchased the part from the local dealership for about $80 and replaced it.
You should first checkout the compressor. If it doesn't turn at all, then it's either a bad compressor or electrical (fuse). Hope for the later...
