A/c light flashes and no cold air. every time I take it in to shop it works. Cold air seems to fail after heavy rains and extremely humid condition's. Please tell me there is a relay or something besides the control head itself.

1997 Lexus ES300 Question: A/c Light flashing on control head, entire system charged and works intermitinly

I did a google search, and found a thread on clublexus.com about the flashing AC light. The AC relay in the fuse/relay box under the hood is usually the problem. Either the terminals simply need to be cleaned with a pencil eraser after removal, or replace with a new relay. OEM relays will be expensive, but an aftermarket BWD relay should work as good, and be less expensive from the auto parts store.

Thank you I will go check that now! I ordered the part from Auto Zone and when going to replace it I found the relay is not where the owners manual states. Nothing under the hood resembles the relay. I did find something under the fuse panel on the drivers side but am unable to pull it out. Do you know exactly where the relay is located on 1997 USA model es 300? Best Regards @
