a/c does not work on 1995 Ford Mustang

a/c does not work with the switch and the vent doesn't work either. If i bypass the switch i'm able to get the a/c to work. is it only the switch or is there something else?

It could be the switch, wiring or connectors causing you trouble. It's possible that the system isn't charged correctly or that it won't switch on due to the pressure switches failing or preventing the compressor from engaging due to the refrigerant being over or undercharged. There's probably a thermal limiter on the compressor that could be the trouble but I'd look first at the switch and controls. Use A/C gauges and a meter or testlight to see what's up.
