AC COMPRESSOR BELT on 2004 BMW 645Ci

MY AC COMPRESSOR BELT SNAPPED THE OTHER DAY AND I TRIED TO REPLACE IT MYSELF SINCE IM PRETTY MECHANICALY INCLINE BUT FAILED AFTER 2HRS UNDER THE HOOD,SO I THREW MY HANDS UP AND TOOK IT TO PEPBOYS AND THEY COULDNT FIXED IT EITHER SO HERE I AM SEARCHIN FOR HELP BECAUSE I REFUSE TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER FOR SOMETHING SO SIMPLE THAT I CAN DO MYSELF

http://www.bmwblog.com/wp-content/uploads/n62-engine.jpg This is an early N62 silvertop but the belt system is very similar, majority of the time the belts are just not run properly. If any remains from the old belt can be found and the code read off it just to make sure it is correct. Should be something like a 6PK1555.

how do u install the a/c belt i see no tension pulley or any adjustment bolts thanks for your help

you obviously cannot do it yourself if the belt failed in such a short time.... people think that cars are simple to work on... but there are many many little things that you need to be aware of even for something as "simple" as a belt replacement... Why the hell did you take ur car to pepboys? They are not qualified to work on your BMW.... I have seen cars get messed up even more there... especially BMWs and Mercedes... you should take your car to a reputable independent repair shop.

For the a/c pulley there is no tension pulley.... but yeah bad call on the pep boys
