If your compressor is not turning on, you may be significantly low on refrigerant, which means your system does not have enough pressure to operate. You could also have a cycle switch electrical issue or a clutch/coil issue at the compressor. Safe to say you will need to have a certified AC tech with credentials to handle refrigerant check out your system.
