Question: A/C Belt Noise

When I turn on my a/c, I hear a squeaky belt sound. This only happens when the a/c is turned on. Otherwise, the a/c works fine. Do I need to replace all belts, or just this one? Not sure how many belts there are, or which is for what. Thanks.

The 4 cylinder engine has one belt that drives everything with an automatic belt tensioner. I have seen the tensioners fail. I think the V6 may have two belts, a separate belt for the power steering. Check that belt tension is OK and the condition of the belt/s are OK.

I have a 6 cyl. Is it a costly repair to replace the belts? I'm sure the original belts are on the car, since I've had it for about 4 years now (but I bought it used). It was a Certified Used Toyota, and the warranty is good til 100K. Do you think the belts are covered under the ceritified used warranty? I guess I'll have to check Thanks for your help!
