Recent trade up from a 01 2500 slt deisel, to an 06 deisel quad 4x4. Problem is Abs dash light and Brake dash light both lite up. Chimed for awhile then stayed on. Shut truck off, after work 9hrs or so, started home, no warning lights on dash, 4-5 miles, back on. Have had a lot of heavy rain and ponding on the roads. what can I check first or replace myself. don't have a scan tool, but able to replace and repair most.

You will have to get the ABS system coded out. It could be as simlpe as Differential speed sensor or a Controller Anti-lock brake module. One is about $80.00 and the other over $800.00.
