About a 9 months ago my ABS and Break light started coming on and would turn off on it's own. I took my Blazer in for some other repairs and had them take a look at the ABS sensors. They told me the sensors were fine and the breaks work just fine. It appeared to the related to the warning lights, the computer was reporting a problem that was not there. To fix it they needed to rebuild a part (don't remember what part), he said it would take a few days and would cost about $500.00 (If I had the dealer repair it the cost would be more than $1500.00). Since the breaks were working fine and I did not have the money to fix it I decided to let it go. I am ready to have it fixed now but wanted to know more about the problem. I wonder why this issue has not been recalled.
The ABS light comes on while driving. Sometime the ABS will kick on for no reason. I will be coming to a stop on a dry paved road and boom the ABS kick on. I beleive it is on one side only cause the vehicle will pull very hard to one side. The problem has no been addressed yet but I will be taking a lok at it shortly. IF any one else has had this problem and fixed it please let me know.
My abs light came on after I got my brakes calipers an roders I got it done at a shop I pulled the fuse an the abs light stayed on so when I was backing out of the driveway hit my brakes an pumped them light went out seems fine now
Anti-Brake module EBCM, internal solder points on IC board break away from points of contact due to poor manufacturing standards. This results in intermittent ABS & Brake light illumination on dashboard. Solution is to replace module or repair by (carefully) dis-assembling the unit, re-soldering all relay contact points on the bottom of the IC board. The repair method worked for me.
