ABS light had gone on and off for a while. My service guy mentioned that it really needed to be replaced, as if it didn't, ultimately, the car engine would stop. The car ran fine, brakes worked fine. At around the same time, my transmission was working strangely. Car would double shift on it's own, or at takeoff, would hesitate, as if in neutral. Yesterday, sounded like something broke - and it's not driveable at all. Having it towed this afternoon to get fixed. I could go 2-3000 RPM, and still only go a mile or two and hour. Not happy.
abs module failed ,while parked, and having problem with dashboard cluster, and low power while take off.
VOLVO want $1800 to fix,can afford, will drive as is
I fixed my ABS controller by getting a used one from VOVO AUTO PARTS I had a garage take the old one out and got a matching one with the same number and had it put in. No computer work . Just had to clear the codes. Only $250 verses $1300.
ABS,CEL,TRAC CONT.,LIGHTS CAME ON, AND STOP SAFLEY WAS FLASHING ON MESSAGE BOARD. I TOOK IT TO A VOLVO SERVICE DEPT. FOR DIAG. TEST. THE SAID IT NEEDED A NEW BRAKE CONTROL MODULE FOR $1785.00 PLUS SOFTWARE AND REPROGRAM.THEY ALSO SAID A USED ONE WILL NOT WORK BECAUSE THEY ARE VIN SPECFICIC. I WENT ON LINE LOOKING FOR SOME HELP. I FOUND MATTS VOLVO SITE. I E-MAILED HIM TO SEE IF HE COULD REBUILD MINE. HE DOSNT REBUILD THAT MODULE,BUT REBUILDS ALMOST ANY OTHER YEAR. HE RECOMENDED A COMPANY OUT OF CANADA CALLED XEMODEX I SENT THEM MY MODULE FOR A REBUILD. THE COST WAS $399.00 INCLUDING SHIPPING. IT SEEMS TO BE WORKING SO FAR, IT COMES WITH A LIFETIME GUARANTEE
Brake failure message. multiple codes found for BCM/CEM. Brake vacuum switch and brake pedal position sensor
I have the same exact problem as #6 Report. How did the owner reprogam the BCM after it was purchased from XEMODEX? My dealer says it will cost me $1,400 to replace.
S60 AWD 2.5 Turbo. This car is such a problem automobile. Faulty ABS control unit replaced at 59,040 miles. Exactly five months later, the same light comes on again. The light bulbs are always going out. I will never buy another Volvo.
odometer is inter cruise ctl doesn't work abs module doesn't work , head lights came on in the middle of the night with no one in the car
The Anti-Lock brake system light keep coming on i took my car to four different mechanics and they detect no problem.
I had the brake control module replaced at Lawrence Volvo in Walnut Creek, CA about a year ago. The ABS warning light had been coming on and off for about six months when the car died on me in the middle of heavy traffic. $1500 later the dealership said the problem was fixed. Now at 109,00 miles the ABS light is coming on again. I took it back to the dealer because the part was still under warranty. They are telling me now that I need a new brake pump?? This would cost $3200. Not getting it fixed, but I think I am getting the runaround.
I have been having problems with my ABS for about a month now. This problem has slowly moved itself from light brake grabbing when I wasn't touching the brakes; today I had the ABS fully lock up on my on the freeway and shut my engine off. I had to limp the car home with it constantly locking the brakes up and shutting off. Volvo SERIOUSLY needs to take responsibility and recall their piece of crap parts.
