I have a 2002 Ford Escape, and the ABS light came on, but before it does the brakes dont operate properly. Once the light comes on brakes work fine. Had the car scanned for codes and it says the abs control module is bad. How do you replace the control module

codes never indicate a bad part, just the system that has a fault.
it needs to be diaged by a shop to determine the actual failure.
if the control module did fail, you need to find the cause like a short in the wiring or the new one can burn out the same way.
before you throw an expensive part at the system, get a second opinion to verify.

Is it possible that the fuse or fusible link went bad?
