ABS light on, scanner shows C0040 (rear wheel speed sensor) and C0055 (steering wheel position sensor signal B. What preliminary troubleshooting is recommended? Are these pretty common to this model?

Each of the codes will have an associated diagnosis procedure for checking that the sensors and wiring are OK. With a computer, the technician will monitor the signals from the sensors and if the signals are incorrect, they will have to look at the wiring and the sensor to determine the fault. There have been some issues with the ABS modules, but I'm not sure these codes are normally what appears. You can see some of the common issues with the ABS control Modules here: http://bit.ly/8z7rcm
