Question: ABS braking sensors after braking. Sudden vibation and lag to car after braking

Driving at any time car runs great, but after any braking mostly hard car sterring wheel vibrates not imagined for about 5 minutes the slowly diminishes if no braking has occured. If car is stopped for 5 minutes noise and vibration disappears. Had brakes and tiresand front end checkedthinking it was wheels or tires, but know I know it is definitely coming after braking Could be ABS failing or sensor something hanging up. Thinking back I have had to brake hard for road condition and maybe something, now is not right Thank you for your help

Since the steering wheel shackes I would imagine the problem is witht the front brakes. It sounds to me like one of the front calipers are hanging up after braking. You said they checked the brakes but did they press the brake pedal and go check if each wheel rotated within the 5 minute time you mentioned. It takes over five minutes for a mecanic to lift the car and pull off the wheels. so maybe the caliper released by the time they checked it. If you have a hydralic jack maybe try this yurself starting at the front wheels. Lift each wheel off the ground one at a time then hit the brake pedal then go to the lifted whell and see if it rotates.

Thank you Thank you Thank you I will do that or have it done. I feel a lot more comfortable knowing there will be a solution. took a while to figure the shaking was after braking. The mechanic who checked the brakes was a great guy as well as a good mechanic. He replace stabalizer bars which I definitely needed Thanks so very much for your help. Pat
