My ABS & Brake light both came on the other day and I was wondering if someone possible knew what could be wrong with it.

2002 Ford Escape Question: ABS & Brake light

You'll have to have the codes read out to determine the cause. Could be a low battery voltage, bad ABS sensor or a bad control module, but without the codes, these are all just guesses!

I have the same problem. Except that when I brake, my ABS kicks in and starts pulsing. It is as if the car thinks its sliding. A friend took a look at it and told me that the ABS sensor gear was cracked. He estimated a $100-150 to repair. Hope yours is a better outcome.

They had a recall one or two years ago, and it was something to do with the ABS and brake light. There was a part that needed to be replaced because it was catching these vehicles on fire while they were parked. I have 2002 and had it replaced, and have not had problems. However, my sister-in-law ignored it, and hers burnt completely up. If you did not have this done you might want to check it out. I can't remember what the part was called but your local dealer could tell you.
