Look in your owners manual for oil specs. If you don't have one, I would go with a 10w-30 oil, and change it and the filter every 3000 miles.

Mercedes call for in all temperatures5/50 W oil, in temperatures above 32 degrees F call for 20/40W, SF/CC, or SF/CD class oil.
8.5 quarts with an oil filter change. I always change the oil in my cars at 3000 miles, none call for synthetic oil, with synthetic oil I would still change the oil every 5000 miles.

Mercedes calls for 0W-40 Mobil One Synthetic. European Blend

5 - 40W with 8.5 Quartssynthetic with filter
it should makes you drive up to 9000 KM but i go for 5000
and this turned my check engine lamp by the way
