If the clicking noise is coming from behind the dash of your 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo chances are one of the A/C actuators is failing. If that is the case, a fault code may be stored in the A/C control module - you will need a scan tool to access the code. The other option is to locate the "clicking" actuator by investigating exactly where the noise is coming from. If you unplug the electrical actuator on the faulty actuator the noise will stop. That is most likely the actuator that will need replacing.

I experienced the same thing.I changed mine out and it fixed the clicking noise I heard. I would bet it is the A/C actuator too. Part was not much at all, but getting to the old one and installing the new one under and behind passenger dashboard was a bit of a task.

If this noise comes from under the center to rt side of dash it is possible the vacuum motor has failed. I have replaced it on my 2006 Monte Carlo
