Question: 99 nissian pathfinder died out

my 99 nissian pathfinder jus died while driving. cranks but wont turn over. checked the fuel pump and was pumping. pulled thrittle body off an sprayed starter fluid sitll wont turn over . pulled spark plug wire to check for spark ,no spark. took distributor cap off to check if rotor spins it does.checked all fuses all good.checkd power going to distributor got power checked crancked sensor for spark none does this mean my distributor is no goog since the ignition coil is built in the distributor.... please help never had any problems with mypathfinder till now this is the first time breakdown dont have money to buy parts an it not be the problem

    Replace distributor with a good reman. I do this with great results.This vehicle has a little dist.
    trouble,at least at my shop,if dist.rotating,timing belt most likely ok. But just to be sure CHECK IT.
    Also check rotor button closely for burn through!!

    so now i checked the rotor it looks a bit rusty burn pulled it off then had my wife crank it over while i checked for spark at the coil an to my attention spark was there yeah. lol so now what should i do. do i go for the cap an rotor? the cap had residue build up on the pins what should i do now...could it be a sensor?

    If you have spark from coil but not to plugs it has to be rotor or cap replace both!

    ok changed the cap an rotor still no spark is there maybe a sensor that can block the distributor from fireing to the spark plugs?

    Did you replace the dist.? The distributor is also known as a crank angle sensor.If you want to replace a sensor, start there.

    yes i did pulled it marked it re set new dist an whohooo it started like a cahmp i am reallly appriciated for your knowledge on helping me get my vechile running i am a father of four girls an getting them to school was a piority but income is rough so i am reallly proud to have you answear my problem an have help me through it to the end your expertise is more then appriciated i not only got my car back up an running but gained a really good friend to help the low income people get ahead without going to a shop an costing us a grip of money to fix my problem....if i havent told you thankyou very much from the holi family living in honolulu,ohau we very much appriciate your knowledge in automotive knowledge agian thankyou.......
