My clutch has recently started slipping pretty heavily. I'm bringing my car (112K miles, no previous transmission or engine problems) in for a run through but I'm pretty sure I'll need to get the transmission overhauled. What might this set me back?

All you will need is a clutch disc, pressure plate, throw out bearing and resurface the flywheel, not a trans. You may even need a clutch slave, probabily not. You can get an estimate right at RepairPal.
