My dealer is insisting I come in for a 30,000 mile inspection and they estimate my cost to be $300 (or a $500 or $600 package). Does this sound appropriate for my car or are they just trying to rack up unnecessary charges on me?

Honda uses a "Maintenance Minder" system that takes into account time, mileage and other driving conditions. The display on the dash will inform you as to what service is required. The display will show an "A" or "B", followed by some numbers (1-6). This letter/numbers are a code that the shop should use to determine what service is needed.
Do you have this code appearing in the dashboard?
If so, you can get an estimate for the service here: http://repairpal.com/estimator?car_type_id=6621

Don't worry aboiut it just have regular maint. oil change, tire rotation, air filter, just decline all the other rediculous stuff. They check the bakes and belts etc.stuff free as part of a tire rotation and oil change.
