I was told today by a dealer service dept. that the 30,000 mile maintenance would cost 600 bucks or so. Outrageous.

Are there any more affordable options? Are the fluids they put in the vehicle unavailable anywhere else as he tried to tell me????

If I take it to the local oil change shop is there any danger of them screwing it up(beyond normal I mean)? The last oil change I had the dealer do cost 30 or 40 bucks and that was oil change only.

What a ripoff.

The fluids are readily available from any good quality independent shop that works on Nissan. Go find a good independent shop that knows Nissan and get a lot more for less dollars.

Thanks. Another dealer said they'd do the essentials for about 250 plus another 84 or so if the diff. fluid needs to be changed.
