1998 Volvo V70 XC

Question: 3 things went wrong in 5000 miles.

I bought this car with 113k had it serviced a Volvo then. Took it in at 117k and now I need a charcoal canister $500.00 a motor mount $285.00 a two sway bar bushing at $185.00 all of this went wrong in 5000 mile. and the A/c needs $385.00. I can understand the a/c. Why didn't they see the motor mount and sway bars last time or are the scaming me.

    If seen all these issues with the 1998 V70's, so it's not uncommon, especially with the mileage you have on your car. I have a few questions though:
    What is wrong with the charcoal canister? Was the check engine light on?
    Which mount is bad?
    Is there any noise from the sway bar bushings?
    What is wrong with the A/C?
    Have you considered taking it to an independent shop? Our directory shows one in your area, and they have a good review from one of our users:

    Make sure you ask the service advisor how severe the problems are. Have them rate them from 1-5, 5 needing replacement now. Some shops are more proactive and recommend parts when they are showing signs of wear, but they are not urgently needed. You have to consider the 120,000 mile service that is coming up soon, it is quite expensive!
    Find a good independent shop and you will save $$

    The A/c had a bad valve, The motor mount is sagging. They say it won't pass inspection that way the motor touches the frame in this condition, R/F mount. And the charcoal filter cause the check engine light to come on, that repair is $500.00. What is the cost of the 120,000 service. I am satisfied with there work over all. Bushing are showing signs of wear.
