My mechanic said the engine needs to come out to fix the four wheel drive on a 2007 trail blazer. Is this true? Why would they design somthing like this?

    If power is not reaching rear tires, it could be the transfer case which can be replaced from under the vechicle with the engine in. If the issue is the transmission or between the trans. and transfer case, then yes it is so much safer and necessary to take the engine out to work on or replace.
