2006 Ford Explorer Question: 2006 Ford Explorer heater flapper noise blowing air. How to determine.repair

 Rookie

Started when I bought the vehicle and would put the defroster on. Now blows cold air like something is sticking and not wanting to provide warm air. How to determine problem and how to fix without expensive repair. I have only
put 2000 miles on this vehicle since I bought it. Now has
61,000 miles.

    YOU MAY HAVE A BLEND DOOR ACTUATOR THAT IS BAD. THERE ARE LIKE 3 OR 4 DEPNDING ON SYSTEM. POSS YOUR HEATER BLEND DOOR IS STUCK OPEN.

    Depending on how yor car is equipped manual HVAC system or automatic climate control system...but it sounds as if the blend door motor or the duct it works could be cracked. The electronic controled system has several air door motors. Sometimes the blend door motor can be accesed by removeing glove box....others may require removal of dash panel. Most of the time this repair requires a experienced technician to diagnose and repair.
