I have a 2005 Acura TL with a manual trans (6speed) which needs the drivers side half shaft replaced. I was wondering before I get started on the repair is there any special tools, parts, or procedures is should follow. I am thinking about loosing the drivers side wheel area enough to have the strut moveable to slide the axle out. Once enough room is available was going to use a pry bar to seperate shaft from the housing. As long as the seals seem reuseable was going to install the new half shaft

Your repair procedure is correct, no special tools are required. Should take about an hour, need to separate the tie rod end to allow you to pull the steering knuckle out far enough to withdraw the axle from the hub be careful not to over extend the flexible brake line or ABS harness.
