I would use a 12 volt source, like a battery. There is going to be 1 ground wire and then a low speed wire and a high speed wire. Put the negative lead on to the ground side, which is typically black or brown and then try one of the other 2 with the positive lead. BE CAREFUL, so you do not cut your fingers. - dandd
