2003 durango won't start on 2003 Dodge Durango

I have a 2003 Dodge Durango 4wd with 4.7
The problem is it won’t start. It started for about 10
seconds idling rough then died but now it will not
start . in the past, once every few weeks when you first started
it would run rough and act like wanted to die for a minute
or 2 then run fine. The check engine light has been on I had
the part store check the code before he said it was the gas
cap. Any idea what might be wrong

My 2007 Durango does the same thing. The dealer found nothing wrong except to suggest maybe the battery should be replaced even though it tested fine. Um no! Gas cap light and check engine light have been on and I replaced the gas cap, but lights are still on. I know there is a leak somewhere or a bad hose somewhere relating to the gas cap/tank, causing trouble starting. Haven't had trouble starting it lately though. Taking it back for inspection soon and hopefully something will be found then.
You'll need to have it towed to a reputable shop with professional diagnostic equipment for a proper diagnosis and related repairs.
