'03 Silverado 5.3 V-8. Barely runs while driving through rain. Loses power, misfires, backfires. Simple tune-up, or something more needed?

    plugs, wires are a good start. wires may be leaking in the wet weaTHER.

    Believe it or not it was the fuel pump. All I can figure is the wires entering the fuel pump were so corroded that they kept shorting in the rain. Thanks for getting back though.

    the connectors at the pump are common failures and are required to be changed with the fuel pump module.
