I get water in the spare tire well but I get no water on the lining of the trunk except from an area were the wire from the gas tank sending unit comes into the trunk. The water apears to be coming in from the bottom of the trunk. I have run water on the outside of the trunk deck and sprayed water under the car with no visable leaks. last week I drove about 600 miles in the rain and had several boxes in the trunk. only the bottom of the boxes got wet.

In order to find your leak you may need to do the following: Remove everything from the trunk including any lining material and the spare tire. Now with someone in the trunk with a flashlight spray the rear of the car with water, Most common leaks are from the trunk lid weather strip and the tail lights. If no leaks are noted spray thoroughly spray the wheel wells. You should have found your leak by now. It is possible that water is getting sprayed in such a way that the leak only occurs while driving by this is very unlikely.
