Question: 2000 vw jetta coolant light, no heat

2000 vw jetta coolant light is one my gauge is reading 260 degrees but yet my car is not actually overheating , and id i try to put the heat on it comes out cold, Ive already change thermostat and temp sensor. Does anyone have any other option

    260?? yes, it is overheating.
    with no heat and full coolant, you may have blown a head gasket at this point.
    the cause may be the water pump. they have plastic vanes that break off causing no circulation in the system.

    my car hasnt smoked and when it reads 260 degrees if i stop and check the hoses there not even that hot (well one is very warm one is cold) thats why i was thinking it was reading it was over heating but it wasnt.. Someone else mentoned the waterpump to me too, is there any other symptoms or anything i should do/avoid doin till i get it fixed... Thnk u 4 ur response
