Shouldn't I expect to get more than 2yrs use out of new OEM steering gear?

YES YOU SHOULD BUT REMEMBER THEY ARE ALL R/B ASSEMBLIES.ALSO ALOT DEPENDS ON IF YOUR SYSTEM WAS COMPLETELY FLUSH PRIOR TO NEW ASM BEING INSTALL.IT ONLY TAKES A SMALL PC OF DEBRI TO DESTROY RACK SEALS

A lot of after market steering racks are poorly rebuilt, I would have expected a new Chevy rack would have been better. System must not have been properly flushed unless it failed due to a ripped steering rack boot.
