Question: 1999 Town Car Fuel pump problems

 Rookie

Changed fuel pump 2 days ago car will still not start. When the key is turned forward fuel will squirt out. When you turn key to on position it will not start and no fuel is coming out. The fuel shut off switch has been reset.

    Fuel Shut off Switch? There is no Fuel Shut Off switch for the fuel pump unless someone installed one. The only "switches" you have are the ASD and Fuel Pump Relays powered by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). You may have another problem, possible Crankshaft Position Sensor. Without this input, when the key is in the ON position and the engine is not running (zero rpm), the Auto Shutdown (ASD) and fuel pump relays de-energize by the PCM after approximately 1 second. This also occurs when attempting to start the engine and no Crank sensor signal is received by the PCM.

    well if there is no fuel pump cutoff switch then why do they clam to have it here:

    im trying to fugure it out never had a problem until yesterday it wouldnt start and no fuel pressure
