1996 Chevrolet 1500 Pickup Question: 1996 Chevy 5.7L 1500 get a misfire on the #1 cylinder what would cause this

 Rookie

The engine run fine at times and then starts missing. Is not a repeatable issue that can be repeated by meeting certain criteria. Check engine light comes on and code says misfire #1 cylinder. I hae changed the plug and plug wire. Could this be distributor cap?

    What did the plug look like? that would give you some info on the 'type' of misfire. Fuel/oil/lack of fuel. Look for small intake leak in that area and check inj. wiring carefully.
