I changed the relay, but they still don't work. Someone said it might be a ground problem. It was clicking before it went bad. Flashers work fine. Where do I go from here? Mechanic kept old relay. I don't want to change the entire mechanisum on the steering column.

If the reason you don't want to change the combo switch on the column is becuase you think you have to pull the steering wheel, don't worry , you don't have to. The column covers come off (three screws underneath) and the top piece snaps off (a little tricky) and then turn the wheel to access two screws on the switch. Need to remove the switch anyhow for testing.....Your posting doesn't mention if the hazard lights work. Do they? If not, the hazard switch may be the problem , but again , it can be tested.

The hazard lights work. So, it is fairly easy to remove the cover behind the steering wheel. Do I have to remove the bottom piece or just snap off the top piece? Also, you think it is the switch because of the clicking. I can sometimes move the lever down and get a green left signal. Would using a part from the junk yard be ok? Thanks for your help, you are very helpful

remove the bottom piece also , 2 screws on combo switch one screw covered by top piece lower screw covered by bottom piece. Salvage yard part would be okay if you can be sure it works.

Thanks so much for your help.
They just started working for no reason. I have to move the lever a little to get the right side to blink. This is a long shot, but could this have anything to do with putting the wrong bulb in for the brake light? I recently put in the correct bulb and the next day, the blinkers started working. Granted, I have to push the lever up a bit harder to get it to work, but they are working. The left turn works just fine.

Again, thanks for your help. I think I will change the part even though the blinkers are now working most times because I think it will break again.
