Question: 1992 mercedes 300te Wgn random sputter on acceleration..cruise speed better ??

sputter is random...started about 2 weeks ago i notice more obvious when go from stop to cruise speed...once cruise about 60/70 mph its better....replaced fuel pump located under chassis right side rear passenger area about 6 months ago, plugs, distributor rotor/cap...running excellent...recent sputter getting worse as time passes...TX

    I suggest for you to check spark plugs and more important the resistance in your ignition wires, also check coil output. Hope this helps.

    can you please clarify ignition wires...wires from distributor cap to spark plugs ?? correct ?
    includes wire from coil to cap ? TX

    thanx will see if can do. RESULT: I found one ignition wire broken inside...where makes connection plug female.
    Changed all ignition wiresthis week end. Car started up few sputters....then all cleared..ran excellent next 15 minutes...let reach normal engine temp. accelerated hard...70 mph freeway...all good....then when parking after test...again sputter/hesitation....seems failure comes and goes.....can coil fail occasionally ??

    This morning tested again: started normal...warmed up...took for short run...all well fast/slow...
    did not fail.....however noticed in PARK when rev up engine...does spudder and once heard a small pop sound...
    then drove around under load again and no failure....
