Hi our low milege van is a auto,cruise,intermittent wipers and the steering column has been damaged, It was working great intil a shop broke it for us working on another job. The steering wheel has a lot of play in it at the point of the tilt pivot, it can be moved up, down, left and right and has alot of play in it, im not sure what has been broken and would greatly appreciate any feed back on what it could be and any information about how to fix it and where i cauld source the parts, Thank you heaps.

The shop who broke it should repair it. You have to remove the steering wheel , lock plate and turn signal handle and switch to access (3) torx head screws to secure the The upper column cover and bearing retainer. This should eliminate the excessive play,

thanks but i think it further down the column, i have had another response on another site sayini it is either the bolts that secure the tilt mechanisim or the worse case scenario is the tube has broken right where it mounts to the tilt housing pivot, and to be honest i think thats what has hapened as the column was in perfect shape at the begining of the day and after the shop had it it was rubbish, if it is the tube broken is that a major job etc im thinking it will sux a

Hi i have taken the column out of the van and in the process of stripping it down i have got as far as the key drum but am not sure how to remove the drum can anyone offer some help with this thanks heaps, Dion.
