2004 Lexus ES330

Question: 1. Should strut be replaced when the strut bearing is replaced and, if so, why?

The above auto has been driven only 55,000 miles. The sound is exactly as describe on your website. Can hear the knocking noise when driving over bumpy surfaces. A dealer recommended replacing both sides strut bearings and struts. Makes no sense if other side is okay.

    I had a similar problem. It was a loose bolt in the left front strut tower. Dealer retorqued the bolt and the problem was fixed.
